Amanda Denz | Yoga Teacher & Steward of the Studio
Amanda is an RYT 500 who owns Studio Truckee and has practiced yoga for more than 20 years, beginning with an Ashtanga Primary Series class in Boston in 2004. She completed her 200-hour and 300-hour advanced trainings at YogaWorks in San Francisco with Nikki Estrada, Erika Trice, and Mynx Inatsugu, alongside guest teachers including Rod Stryker, Jason Crandell, and Maty Ezraty. In 2012 she began studying with senior teacher Maritza, completing a 100-hour advanced training rooted in Iyengar, Anusara, and Vipassana. Her classes blend Iyengar precision and Anusara principles with the rhythm of vinyasa. She also teaches yin, restorative, pranayama, and meditation.

Amy Burdick | Yoga Teacher
Amy has practiced yoga since 2015 and began teaching in 2023. In 2024 she moved to Australia and taught across the country: on hotel pool decks, in hot yoga studios, and at sunset on the beach. That range of settings shaped her love of power vinyasa. Her classes build heat and work steadily toward a peak pose, with themes drawn from the koshas, yoga's layers of the self. Expect to sweat and work hard for it. Back in the Sierra Nevada, which has long felt like a second home, Amy spends her free time skiing, kiting, biking, and exploring.

Delana Ryan | Yoga Teacher
Delana has been moving since she started dancing at age five. She earned a BFA in Music Theater, performed professionally, and worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor in New York City between acting jobs. She found yoga as a way to stay injury-free and fell in love. After completing her teacher training at Sonic Yoga in NYC, she opened her own studio, YogaCentric, in New Jersey in 2005. She ran it for years before her family moved to Truckee. Her vinyasa classes are grounded, creative, and alignment-focused, giving you a full, strong practice and a quiet mind.

Emily Weer | Yoga Teacher
Emily has more than 25 years of experience in the healing arts. Her sound journeys combine crystal and Tibetan bowls, flute, harmonium, handpan, gongs, and her own voice to create immersive soundscapes that calm the nervous system and support deep rest. Beyond sound healing, Emily teaches Esalen® Massage, leads devotional kirtan, and offers yoga, Tantra, and bodywork. Her sessions are an invitation to slow down, settle in, and let go. Heather Tjalma | Dance Instructor
Heather is the creator and choreographer of AFLOW Dance: Afro Rhythms Embodied in Dynamic Movement & Playful Vibes. Dance wasn't part of her childhood. She discovered it as an adult, and it changed her life. Now she creates joyful, high-energy dance classes rooted in connection, blending Afro rhythms, tribal drumming, Afro-inspired club styles, and contemporary music. AFLOW is designed to energize and empower, a space to feel seen, supported, and confident in your body. Her favorite part is watching energy shift, confidence rise, and connection spark on the dance floor.

Helen Mino Faukner | Yoga Teacher
Helen earned her 200-hour teaching certification in 2015 from Mark Stephens Yoga School in Santa Cruz, California. She has taught in the Reno-Tahoe area for about five years, in styles ranging from restorative and yin to aerial and power yoga. She is a pro runner who jumps in to teach when she's not traveling around the globe to race.

Jenna Kinsey | Yoga Teacher
Jenna teaches thoughtfully sequenced flow classes, along with yin and restorative yoga. A dedicated yogi and meditator, she has spent the last several years immersed in study and is now on the path to becoming a doula. She splits her time between Truckee and Colorado.

Julz Zasyatkina | Yoga Teacher
Julz has taught yoga since 2013. She trained in Atlanta with Rebecca Thieneman in Jonny Kest's LifePower Yoga method, a practice rooted in Ashtanga and Vipassana meditation. Since then she has deepened her teaching with insights from Chinese Medicine, Thai massage, and the seasons. Her creative vinyasa and restorative classes are disciplined yet balanced. She encourages students to find their own edge while meeting the practice with curiosity and compassion. Truckee has been home since 2020, and she draws much of her inspiration from nature's rhythms and the strength of the human heart.

Kansas Carradine | Meditation Teacher
Kansas helps people activate their own heart intelligence for greater emotional self-regulation, confidence, health, connection, and performance. Her teaching is shaped by a deep commitment to seva, selfless service, as a path to spiritual growth and interconnection, and she creates a powerful, supportive container for transformation. Her meditation classes at Studio Truckee welcome new and seasoned meditators alike.

Kate Granlund | Yoga & Sculpt Teacher
Kate is an RYT 500 born and raised in the Bay Area. After a decade of personal practice, she began teaching in 2023. Her classes draw on vinyasa and Ashtanga, with thoughtful sequencing that balances strength, mobility, and mindful pacing. She emphasizes alignment, intentional transitions, and accessible challenges, so students build sustainable strength while staying curious and present. At Studio Truckee she teaches vinyasa, Sculpt, and restorative classes. Outside the studio, you'll find her hiking local trails, cooking something nourishing, or curled up with her cat, Cheeto.

Kate Leist | Yoga Teacher
Kate has taught yoga since completing her 200-hour Ashtanga teacher training in Dharamsala, India, in 2013. Along with classes, she leads workshops, series, women's circles, and retreats. She specializes in vinyasa, myofascial release, Kundalini, gentle yoga, yin, and restorative. Shaped by her own healing journey, her teaching centers on helping students remember their wholeness. She meets students where they are and encourages them to do the same for themselves, with compassion and curiosity. Her classes are a safe, supportive space for whatever season of life you're in.

Kelly McKay | Yoga Teacher
Kelly began practicing yoga in 2014 and fell for Ashtanga in 2019, drawn to its structured sequence and continuous breath. She completed her 300-hour training with Loren Russo in New Jersey and has continued studying with Loren, as well as with Suresh Bhat and Yogrishi Vivektu in India. Yoga has been central to her own healing and transformation, and she brings that depth to her teaching. Her classes are rooted in Ashtanga vinyasa and woven with mantra and pranayama. They create space for self-discovery, curiosity, and steady growth.

Kumara Kelley | Yoga Teacher
Kumara is a former professional snowboarder who teaches strong, thoughtfully sequenced vinyasa flow. Her classes draw inspiration from the Bowspring method, blended with her training in power vinyasa. Expect an excellent playlist, plenty of movement and sweat, and to leave feeling refreshed.

Lucas & Callie Lansing | Yoga Teachers
Lucas and Callie are a couple who teach together. They offer a strong, heart-centered flow rooted in Jivamukti yoga and other traditions, and their classes feel like an experience more than a class. Lucas brings fifteen years of teaching and draws on the Kriya Yoga and Ananda Meditation lineage of Paramhansa Yogananda, along with somatic, movement, and nutrition practices. Callie is a coach, writer, and guide whose practical yet soulful approach helps people move from self-doubt to trust in themselves. Expect to move, build strength, sweat, and feel a strong connection to community in their classes.

Mallory Langer | Dance Instructor
Mallory, also known as Ms. Cheaky Peeks, has danced her whole life, with training that spans classical ballet, contemporary, and many other styles. In her early twenties she discovered burlesque, and with it a deep commitment to body positivity through dance. At Studio Truckee she teaches Vixen Vibes, a class built around confidence and body positivity. She also teaches chair dance and intro to burlesque. Her classes are playful and empowering: you'll build confidence, laugh a lot, and leave loving your body a little more.

Marissa Mignone | Prenatal Yoga
Marissa is a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher. She has supported families in Truckee and Tahoe for more than a decade. She trained as a doula through Birthing From Within in 2012 and holds prenatal and postnatal yoga certifications with Jane Austin. She has also studied Spinning Babies, Birth Story Listening, and Ayurvedic postpartum care, and in 2024 she earned a Miscarriage & Infant Loss Doula certification. Her prenatal classes offer a nurturing, grounded space for expectant parents to connect with their bodies and their babies.

Mike Richardson | Yoga Teacher
A former yoga studio janitor and quiet legend, Mike weaves humor and strength into his Bhakti flow classes. He guest teaches and practices at the studio when he's not on the road in his Syncro.

Nicole Koch | Yoga Teacher
Nicole has practiced yoga since the 1990s and earned her first teaching certification in 2013. She has since completed 500-hour advanced yoga training (RYT 500), studied Reiki, Qi Gong, and breathwork, and become a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Raised outside San Francisco, she has traveled to more than 50 countries. She also spent four years living in Nosara, Costa Rica, with her husband and three kids. For Nicole, yoga has little to do with pretty poses and everything to do with understanding who we are and how we connect to the world. When she's not teaching, she's skiing, surfing, or out in big nature.

Shanna Arney | Pilates Instructor
Shanna is a massage therapist and Pilates and barre instructor who brings a deep, practical understanding of how bodies work to every class. Her high-energy Hot Pilates classes build strength, stamina, and agility, and they're the kind of hard work that keeps people coming back. Expect to be challenged and to sweat. You'll walk out feeling like you accomplished something real that day!

Sophie Czerwinski | Yoga Teacher
Sophie is an RYT 500 who has practiced yoga for over a decade. She completed her 200-hour training with CorePower Yoga in Berkeley in 2022 and her 300-hour training at Goa YogaShala in India in 2026. A Dartmouth graduate in Anthropology and Global Health, she worked in public health, guided backpacking trips, and served as a community health worker in Lesotho before moving to the Tahoe area in 2023. Her breath-led, intelligently sequenced classes balance strong and soft, with alignment cues and threads of meditation, philosophy, and Bhakti. Off the mat, she's skiing, cycling, foraging, or dancing.

Staci Curtis | Yoga Teacher
Staci has taught movement for 20 years, from dance and yoga to personal training. She completed her first 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2016 in this very studio space. She then learned and taught in Morocco, India, and Thailand before coming home to Truckee. She has also studied Reiki, holistic yoga therapy, Thai massage, and process coaching. Her classes blend alignment-based power vinyasa with dance-inspired transitions and feel-good music. Expect sweat and intentional breath, and expect to leave stronger than you arrived. Off the mat, she's chasing powder days, waves, bike trails, and big views.
